1. Prohibition of corruption
Any form of corruption and bribery will not be tolerated by GIATEC. No personal influence or obligation shall be created. National law must always be complied with. No benefits shall be given to anyone to influence a decision.
2. Compliance with the law
The maximum working hours according to the applicable labour law (Working Hours Act) apply. Permitted working time is a maximum of 48 hours per week (maximum 60 hours including overtime). Prescribed breaks shall be granted and complied with.
3. Payment of fair wages and salaries
Wages and salaries are based on the applicable legal provisions, as well as contracts concluded under individual law. A fair and performance-related wage structure shall be aimed for.
4. Prohibition of forced labour and corporal punishment
Disciplinary action by direct or indirect force is prohibited. Never intimidate or force a worker to work. This includes verbal, psychological or physical violence, as well as coercion or harassment (including of a sexual nature).
5. Prohibition of discrimination
All workers shall be treated equally, regardless of: Sex, colour, age, race, religion, political opinion, any physical or mental disability, ethnic, national or social origin, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics, membership of a workers’ organisation. Freedom of association is recognised to the extent permitted by law.
6. Safe and healthy working conditions
Business partners take measures to prevent health hazards and accidents. Workers are trained on occupational safety at regular intervals. Clean toilets and drinking water in sufficient quantity are available to every worker
7. Prohibition of child labour
Under no circumstances shall workers under the age of 15 be employed. The restriction on youth employment under the Youth Employment Protection Act shall be complied with.
8. Environmental protection
Applicable laws, standards and procedures are integrated internally and are complied with and regularly monitored. The business partners work continuously to avoid and reduce environmental pollution. They guarantee proper disposal of waste, especially hazardous substances. This also applies to waste water and emissions.
